After speaking to one of the local farmers about shooting his land he was more than happy to let me around his 550 acres to shoot rabbits and foxes, and the best part is no one shoots it anymore and hasn't for about 7 years! So as you can imagine its crawling with rabbits.

After sorting that it was time to get myself a new rifle, walked into the local gun shop and saw a beautiful cz455 varmint thumbhole in .17 flavour, fell in love straight away and got it for a reasonable price with the bonus of have a trigger kit fitted for me as well. So straight down the field it was for a zero and wow what a accurate rifle, and im really impressed with it, didnt find the difference in sound from a .22 much of a problem in fact i hardly notice the difference.

So later on went to my new permission ready to see what it was capable of and with seeing 6 rabbits with in 10 feet of going through the gate i knew there would be plenty about, after about 5 minutes had 2 headshots, one at 120 yards the other around 115, after the first shot and one rabbit down, to my surprise the other rabbit hardly moved and just popped up its head for a second head shot.

after having a good walk round and seeing plenty more rabbits i thought it would be more wise to use my little map of the land the farmer had handed me to get some understanding of the land, In all ended the night with 5 rabbits and a magpie, but new there was plenty more i could of had but they will always be there for another day, i really recommend the cz455 to anyone thinking about buying one as its a amazing piece of kit, and really worth the money.

all theres left to do now is save up for the .223
