Granola

I know we all love our bacon sarnies and full Englishs but After Ack-Ack's cholesterol thread I thought I would post this recipe for granola. I got well sick of eating porridge as part of my cholesterol lowering regime and this makes a nice change.

 

  • 400g rolled oats
  • 100g mixed seeds
  • 50g broken walnuts
  • Handful of desiccated coconut
  • 3 tbsp runny honey
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 150g raisins

 

 

Pre heat oven to 180. Mix everything apart from raisins in a bowl and put in baking tray. Cook for 30 mins stirring approx every 10 mins. Add raisins while still hot. Seal in a kilner jar when cool.

 

Enjoy with cold milk. Nice brekkie and very healthy.
