hughiep
Was out this evening shooting a few pigeons over a freshly cut rape filed with the shottie..was just about to call it a night..about 7.30 ish when i notices a rabbit, now ive never seen a rabbit in this field so i has a shot and missed !! Rabbits gone, faster then the speed of light...anyway packs away me deeks and hide and thinks ille go for a walk the same way the rabbit went and see if there are anymore. walked about 50 yards when coming towards me i spots a bleeding fox with a bleeding rabbit in its mouth....Flipping heck (or words to that effect) i thought it must have seen me but i crouched down anyway, semi auto shottie at the ready..and it still kept coming...i let it get about 20 yards away and gave it one shot...dead as a dodo.....young vixen..now minus its tail i might add. First of many i hope oh and no i didnt pick up its rabbit.
Cranfield
There are a lot of young foxes about now, as a lot of the cover has been cut down. We see more on the roads round here at night, this time of the year. I can understand the rabbit was bleeding, but why was the fox bleeding before you shot it ?
