Jesse James
Hi Me again..... Another cracking few hours at the golf club permission again and YES rabbits can swim.... well dead rabbits float at least.... shot one rabbit about 60 -70 yrds out and lost him... until looked in the river under the bridge and there he was... rather wet soggy rabbit, doing doggy paddle.... extra one for the pot. ended up with 26 but lost at least 8 -10. Now this has me thinking why do these rabbits that seem to get hit hard and seen to go down then jump around and run of into woods and long grass like nutters.... these are being head shot and several lung and heart shot yet i'm losing quite a few... is this common with .22 subs at 50 yrds . Shot placement is critical and correct, could it be the range is too close... or simply they run on "Steam" so to say... I have seen this viewed through my pulsar and watched one run for 10 yrds at least and then drop, to be picked up. I have always used the .17HMR and not had runners of course. lee any one else have these, hopefully I will have video of them to post up, once I get it out sorted. turbo33
Another good night Lee, well done I have found the little ones do that loopy jumping thing most. Somehow their reflexes seem more prolonged. If the shot is closer to the ear than the eye, they do seem to drop more effectively so thats where I aim for. Jesse James
Thank you Guys. Mark, you correct mate, these little rabbits thought it was Disco Night and started to "Get on Down" to the ringing in there ears .... they were dancing all over the place, A couple had a second shot for sure. as you say its more to do with there refelexes for sure and not poor shooting by me (Off course).... Thanks again. Lee

Lee You might have looked at this video already, but I would say this guy is a reasonable experienced shot, and half way through he says he has these "dancers" and his opinion is its just excessive reflex action, http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/index.php?/topic/204870-rabbit-shooting-with-22lr/

Jesse James
Top stuff mate!! well done set up working well for you.. SGS Cheers Alex. yes sir getting on with it now, a lot different than my .17HMR and to be honest wish I could use it (.17HMR) on this permission to be honest but the noise is too much and will scare all the rabbits off and we also have to be a little careful and think about the noise for the 5 houses at the end of the course. don't want to upset any one for sure... Just trying to get to grips with these bloody runners that are getting it "spot on the mark" but run off... anyway yeah thanks again bud. cheers Lee.
