  8. They already are plummeting down. in parts of Northyorkshire and Durham . i do understand good rabbit bashing and nights of 100+ but with lamp and normal scope they have some chance. what will happen in 5 years.
  9. Hi at the moment price does play big-ish part and on top of it after gun is set up it will be out only 1-2 times per month. and there is no scope in the set.
  10. Good to know. there is Howa 1500 in black synthetic stock 6.5x55 very close to me for 540 gbp. dont know how much are CZ at the moment. What sort of glass do you recommend on that. it will be used for long range stuff and some stalking.
  11. I used to run bigish outdoors shop so staff training was my day to day bread. any questions just shoot
  12. Just a thought After chat with some farmers and shooters there is pattern emerging ( around my shooting land etc. ) there is significantly smaller number of Rabbits, Dear, Hare, etc. in areas where shooters use NV set ups and Thermal imaging. whats your opinion on that are we ale doomed cos we want better gear and in 5-10 years there will be cartoon situation of 50 shooters sitting around one hole in the ground waiting for that illusive rabbit .
  13. difference in 3d and 4d is that 4d is stiffer chassis and bit harder eva injection inside for that they are for more serious hills than just hard dog walking. as per how long they will be waterproff. goretex lined shoes / boots are 100 % waterproof unless you will get water thru the top or you will get top collar wet, _ it will soak moisture inside and make boots wet. goretex boots usually stay 100% waterproof 2-4 years but depends on the user as when foot rubs inside membrane is wearing down and splitting. also dont use dubin it will melt membrane. use nikwax/ grangers/meind sportwax. <-- lot safe and will not void guaranty. when membrane is gone then there is no amount of proofer which will make boots waterproof again. good solution is then to use waterproof sox. ( i do that in my desert boots when used in very wet places over the summer)
  14. Any one got any experience on this rifles which one will be more accurate or better. I am after synthetic stock one and i do have pez ss t12 mod for it . any tips appreciated.
  15. in 5 years i have fired about 4000 hornady ammo and never had problem until 2 months ago. got newest batch and my new cz was shooting like a shotgun. tried some winchester and about 60% of them come out with splited neck and all of them with carbon on side reaching to the rim on many cases. got some CCI tnt ( hollow point no ballistic tip ) and they are superb no split cases and superb clean brass coming out.
  16. I am not a reloading specialist faaaar from it. but best brass i ever used in my .22H CZ 527 is PPU. my load is 12.8 grain of lil gun on small rifle primers by CCI and sierra hornet bullet 45grain .224 if ever my scales pack in i can just deep brass in powder and level it ( works spot on ) my brass last 10 to 12 shots and there are no pressure signs. very accurate round i will need to check how fast it gets.
  17. I have hatsan escort for 3 years . didnt clean it since 2 years when it was dipped in very muddy pond on winter shooting. on the day i just washed it under the tap on the farm and shake water out. worked spot on . 3000 shots later still works spot on. i must clean it tomorrow after shooting. ( will never happen)
  18. have a look at emma custom rifles in Darlington there is nice .22 hornet by brno/bruno so older make CZ .
  19. its all sorted now. it was only ammo problem did switch from hornady to cci tnt and presto gun is a tack driver again.
  20. go for second hand one. no point paying that much and wait 6 months or longer. also its a hornet if you ever going to shoot out the barrel there must be something wrong and it made of cheese.
  21. I did have on my ticket .22 .17 hmr and .22 hornet. on renewal recently i added extra rimfire and asked for 6.5x55 ( much better than any 308. ) and just put in any legal quarry suitable for this caliber + sound mod. and newer had any problem with getting it. Now wait for .308 brigade hanging me and quartering for saying 6.5 is better.
