Northamptonclay
Bought a new gun today, just been inspecting it and the serial number does not match the box, receipt or paperwork, looks like the shop will have some explaining on Monday as they done the sale notification online there and then. redtailhawk1
I had the same with a CZ . The gun shop used the number on the box and when I got home it was different to the gun.
Northamptonclay
Problem is I got home and emailed notification to firearms dept straight away soi didn't forget to do it, let's hope they have the other / right gun so it's an easy swop but according to their website that's the only one they had so it might take a little sorting . eccles
Never had wrong serial no,but had a Savage HMR with the wrong serial no on the bolt.Lucky i read manual which said under no circumstances use wrong bolt with not matching serial no on rifle. He had 3 others in shop so a quick change for the right one.
DaveK
Easy solution. Phone licensing on Monday, explain the situation and give them the correct serial number. Get the RFD to amend the number if its wrong on your certificate and make sure he initials against the amendment. Happened to me, that's what I did and everyone was happy.
