My First Permission !!!

Recommended Posts

Hi all ... have been following this site for the last 6 months or so and have already learned so much, i havent added many posts as i think its best to let everyone think your stupid than open your mouth and let them know your stupid ... i took delivery of my new gun last month a left handed hatsan escort semi automatic 12g in camo, i know loads of people slate it but at the time the price and guarantee where right for me.

After hitting the clays for a couple of months i decided it was time to search for my first permission, a friend of the family who signed my authority to shoot over his land is not that keen as it turns out to have shooters and i didnt want to push it so i decided to head out and have a look for myself.

My house backs onto a railway line and behind that is a 200 acre farm mostly sheep and cattle but there is a large wooded area that runs the full length of a large field which having lived here for many years i know is used by roosting woodies, so on friday i called round to see the farmer ... after introducing myself and where i lived i asked for permission to shoot his bottom field where the woods are, after a bit of a pause he said he already had people shooting the land, knocked back i thought !!! I thanked him for his time and i produced a card from vista print recommended by people on this site and asked him to give me a call if an opportunity arose, as i turned and walked away he said ... do you shoot magpies ? i said i will shoot what ever you want me to shoot !!! he then told me that nobody has shot the land in 5 years !!! and said he would be happy for me to shoot, infact shoot away boy was his words i think

So dont know if it was my good looks, new next shirt or the vista print card that sold me but thanks for the info everyone, will hopefully put a few pics up of the land soon, i have another farm to call at tomorrow so fingers crossed :good:
