scimitar
Got £200 budget for a scope mounted lamp. Have looked at the cluson interceptor and the tracer tri-star. Anybody got any experience of either product. It will be used for foxing upto about 200 yards. Or would I be better off looking at other products. Thanx. Bewsher500
I have a tri star pro on my Quad I bought the lamp only kit second hand and fitted a £20 eBay lithium battery to it, that now sits in a cheekbag so I am not "tied" to the rifle. The Battery was cheap and twice the aH rating of the £180 Deben one!! Its very bright, easily shoot 200yds if I wanted to as a white light, I tend to use it filtered which knocks a bit of range off but still plenty for me. the lamp is adjustable for beam depending on how far in the LED unit is pushed into the housing. not played around with that but its quite a tight beam. I had to adapt the mount slightly with a couple of strips of tape under the clamp (which is nice and tight on the scope) as the beam was too low and shots out past 80+ yds. its now bang on centre of the scope view well made, got mine for £50 2nd hand but the light only kit is £90, eBay batteries are £20-30, leaves you £70 odd for an NV monocular!
