BerettaSV10
Can't find much info on the browning Pheonix the gun is a 2007 varient with 3 1/2" chamber undecided to go for it or a Hatsan Escort (new). The escort is within budget while the Pheonix is above my initial budget. Has any one had any experience of the Browning Pheonix and what they are like. fo5ter
What's the price? I'm not in the market for one now but I was looking for one until last week when I got my beretta. If I'd found a Phoenix first I would have bought that, heard good things.
Fenlander
The pheonix is a good gun, wont go far wrong with one.A mate of mine has one, cycles everything from 28grm clay carts to 31/2 " goose cartridges. A far better quality gun than the Escort. My mate has had it for a few years and uses it for wildfowling on the marsh I borrowed it last year when my own gun was in for a service, shot a clay comp with it and it never faild to cycle the 100 28grm carts i put through it. Adbevan
Great guns I've had one for 4 years now and had no issues. Except when it got dirty in and around the mechanism, so you have to keep that clean and its easy to do. I fire 28grm and 36grm cartridges through it with no difference, i even fired some 24grm through it and it recycled them no problem. I would deffintly recommend them to anyone. Hope this helps. BerettaSV10
Getting hard now, the escort fits the budget, measured up will need to take into account will need a new gun slip as its a 29" barrel and wont fit in my present slips and would want to buy 2 or 3 chokes like skeet or cyl, then 1/4 and may be 3/4. Being browning it will be well built and will last for years.
fo5ter
If you don't buy it you will probably regret it immediately. I have nothing against Hatsan at all but for the extra £200 you have a gun that should last you forever if you look after it, plus it's a Browning! think of it as an investment. Do it! BerettaSV10
Thats the way I am thinking, might be time to trade in the HW100, as its just sat in the cabinate.
Anth6568
I've had one for 4 years now, fantastic gun. From pigeon hides, crow shooting, rough shooting and on the marsh. It has never failed me. Very reliable and only ever had one stoppage in thousands of shells fired. I think it may have been because it was minus 10 and the oil may have been effected. Very, very good gun!! Edited August 9, 2012 by Anth6568
