pedro68
hi everyone , iv narrowed my search down to a few now and i am considering this one , in your opinion is this a good buy. Suzuki Grand vitara 2.0 td , 54 plate ,21507 miles only , looks very clean for £4,480. its from a garage and he assures me there is full service history. What do you think . pedro68
yeah i thought so to, think il take a run out this weekend and see it , test drive etc, i think this could be the one as i have looked at several of the same year but they all seem to have 80000 plus on the clock and going for a similar price. HDAV
Thats incredibly low mileage for an 8 year old motor! I would want to see some proof, service history, old MOT's if the owner really did 3k a year in it! I would have a good look at the tyres for cracking! and perishing at that age (the tyres will have a date code on them) if you do higher mileage then i would expect a few issues as if its spent alot of time standing or not getting up to temp there could be premature wear on a number of things cars being designed to move and be driven
pedro68
aye , i did quiz the guy on the mileage and he said they run checks to make sure there is no outstanding credit on the car , the mileage is verified and it was a lady owner and the familys second car and traded in against a new bmw , he was not budging on the price but would consider my wifes old beat up picasso as a trade in ,il go oiver this car with my mate who is a mechanic and see where we stand ,i will know better then, i can always walk away, you made a good point about the tyres though , i might use that . i only do around 4500 miles a year and my other car is a 56 plate and iv only done 26 000 miles, i would probably want to put a bit more aggressive tyre on it anyway.i have asked them for mpg and road tax class and they will phone me after work and i can my luck at a few quid of it again. HDAV
My last car was suspicously low mileage 22k at 2 years old........ within first year had some "issues" having seen it, it looks clean and basic for less money there the same car with higher mileage is cheaper and as you don't do a lot of miles you could go for a cheaper higher mileage car, I do reasonable mileage but if you do a lower mileage you can "correct" the mileage over a few years. http://www.autotrade...age/1?logcode=p Worth reading this http://www.whatcar.com/car-reviews/used/suzuki/grand-vitara-4x4/full-review/23602-3#tabsection4 if you havent alreaqdy and checking for the service stamps! IMO if you buy it and only do 4500 worth an annual service with MOT anyway Edited August 9, 2012 by HDAV
