Rabbit shooting in Bedfordshire wanted

Recommended Posts

No luck from last week :(

Had one farmer said he was happy for me to shoot on his land, but to check with his neighbouring farmer first as he likes to shoot too. Went to ask him and was totally dismissive, even though i wasn't even wanting to shoot his land :/

Back out to another 25 tomorrow so hopefully will have some more luck.

Keep trying, door knocking can be quite disheartening but it will come, and usually once you get the first bit of land it's easier to get surrounding farms when you tell them you look after their neighbour.

Go back to the farmer who was happy for you to shoot and explain that his neighbour wasn't so accommodating and see if he will grant you permision anyway.

Thanks guys and yes Cos i think i will do that :good:

Only managed to get around about 10 farms today, but had a small bit of success with 1. The farmers wife answered the door and said that they did have lots of rabbits on their land, and said she will pass the card onto her husband who will give me a call back. Fingers crossed, but i will still be carrying on relentlessly tomorrow.

I am so determined now to get some permissions, i think the farming community will end up giving me a couple of fields just so i stop bugging them

Got my first permission today
:yay:

After trying over 100 farms we finally got lucky. Its a disused quarry only a few miles from my house, with a load of rough fields and woods surrounding it and is absolutely littered with rabbits.

Ecstatic is an understatement, except the fact i am working nights this week so can't get down there until Friday
:/

The landowner basically said to just give him a text before we pop down there, but just knock ourselves out and try to get a few magpies if we can as he hates the things.

Made my day
:)

Another update!

Got a call from a farmer today who had been handed one of my cards, he said they had a massive rabbit problem that they wanted sorting and also a load of rape fields with pigeon I am more than welcome to!

Going to meet him tomorrow morning to sort out boundaries, times and problem areas he wants looking at. Very happy chappy here :yahoo:

Hey ace_of_hearts,

Just moved to Biggleswade recently had a coupe of searches regarding permissions (only on the net based so far) and your's is the only relevant thread coming up anywhere.

How did your massive problem permission work out?

If you need any help (hahaha) can give a newbie any tips or fancy being bought a pint sometime in return for some advice let me know.

Very rusty (just moved out from a long stint in the big smoke) so if you know anywhere decent I could get my skills up again before I think about hunting would also be appreciated.
