charging a lamp

Hi,

 

Got a Deben lamping kit and both batteries have some charge in them. They say charge 8-10 hours. Should I charge them for this and is it possible to 'over charge'?

 

Also how long should a fully charged lamp last?

Hi Col,

Just stick it on charge. Do you have the charger with two lights on it? A red & a green one? If so the green one will go out when it is fully charged.

With the sealed batteries they tend to be a bit more robust and should be stored fully charged as well.

No the charger does not tell you when the battery is full. If I store it charged and don't use it for a few months (for example) will it need charging again before i go out or does it hold its charge?

If you store a sealed cell for a long time it will need charging about once every four months or so.

 

The charger you have is fine to leave on overnight, just don't forget to take it off
