Birx
A friend spoke to me last week and said that he'd started having trouble with a fox that had managed to get into his chicken run. The run is against the side of his house, so obviously we wouldn't be able to deal with Charlie there! So I suggested that he started leaving a few scraps of food under a telegraph pole in the field next to his house every evening, then I'd come over one night and see if I could sort his problem for him. I arrived tonight just before dark, and set myself up in the hedge 70m from the baited area, then got comfortable and waited with the lamp fixed on the area we were expecting to see the fox. I couldn't have been there 15 minutes before a set of eyes came bobbing across the field, straight to the telegraph pole. He hadn't taken his first mouthful when I tickled his ribs with 80gr of .243 Hopefully that'll be the last of his troubles.... for now.
