  6. This is a McMillan Winchester Hunter Stock in Olive green for a Winchester model 70 Short Action rifle (.308, 22-250, .243, .223 etc, etc.) in mint condition. Taken from a custom rifle based on a Winchester model 70 short action. It has seen very little use and the condition reflects that. It is fully inlet for a two piece floor plate, sporter barrelled rifle. From the factory these stocks come in at approx £700 including import tax and postage, and incur a six month wait! I'm am willing to consider offeres in the region of £500 Please contact me for further details or higher resolution pictures. Thanks for looking, Birx
  7. Hi. After a project I have a spare Remington 700 short action BDL bottom metal - trigger guard etc (black). I'm open to sensible offers. I don't seem to be able to upload a photo, but I'll gladly email photos to anyone. Please inbox me if interested. Many thanks, Mark.
  8. The advert doesn't appear to recognise me as a member, but I am selling this rifle so please feel free to contact me with any queries through PW.
  9. Thanks for the replies. Think T3 lite is the way I'll go.
  10. Thanks everyone. Very helpful.
  11. Thanks for the replies. The weight isn't too much to bear - but I'd like something a little less weighty.
  12. Is anyone using a Tikka T3 LITE in 204 Ruger? I have a 204 Ruger in a heavy barrelled rifle because I want to see the bullet strike, but it's heavy to walk around with. I'm considering swapping to a T3 Lite, but am concerned that I might not be able to watch the bullet strike in a lighter rifle. I just wondered if anyone is using a spotter barrelled 204 (with a moderator), and could help me with this?
  13. Hi quietman I haven't measured it, but I'd guess it breaks around 2lb ish at the moment. It is adjustable though.
  14. Jewell Trigger for Remington 700 with safety - stainless steel. This trigger has seen very little use and is being sold because I've sold the rifle it was on. It works perfectly and breaks exceptionally, as you'd expect from a Jewell trigger. RRP is £334 - I'm asking £200 posted. Please pm me if interested.
  15. I have a very lightly used Jewell Trigger with Safety for sale. It is for a Remington 700 that I am selling, and have replaced the original trigger. I have owned this trigger for less than six months, and it breaks beautifully - as you'd expect from a Jewell. I don't seem able to upload pictures from my iPad (perhaps one of you kindly people could help me with that?), but I am more than happy to send pictures from as many different angles as you'd like to a mobile or email address. These triggers are over £334 new (Midway Uk), and are as rare as hens teeth at the moment. I'm asking £275 posted recorded delivery. Please pm me if you are interested.
  16. Fister, I think we're on the wrong forum for this discussion, but everything I've ever read about optics has said that first focal plane reticles are a more expensive way to manufacture them. Indeed the post you quoted was cut and pasted directly from a premium manufacturers website. If you take Nightforce as an example, the same scope is more expensive in FFP than SFP. In addition, it very unusual to find budget scopes offered in FFP. I'm not a businessman, but if I was manufacturing a budget scope - i'd do it the cheapest way possible.
  17. 1st focal plane dodeer. For anyone who's unsure of the difference between 1st and 2nd focal plane scopes - with a 1st focal plane scope, the value of the reticle always remains the same through the power range. The constant value of the reticle allows the shooter to quickly judge the range to the target. This is a more expensive way of making a riflescope, and once you've learned the value of the reticle, it's a very quick and effective method of range finding.
  18. I have for sale a Zeiss Classic Diavari 3-12 x 56 T* illuminated rifle scope. The scope is in practically 'as new' condition, about six months old and comes in it's original box with transferable Zeiss lifetime warranty. These scopes retail for £1450 new (currently on offer at Uttings for £1300) Asking price £1100. I'm struggling to upload pictures at the moment, but if you're interested please pm me and include your mobile number. I will send some photos via text. In the mean time, here's a link to them on the Zeiss Website: http://sportsoptics.zeiss.com/hunting/en_de/riflescopes/classic-diavari.html#inpagetabs-2
  19. Well done mate! First of many hopefully.
