Muddy Funker
I put down for buy 500 keep 600 I think that's a reasonable starting point. If the reason for owning the rifle is vermin/pest control the ticket will come back that you're allowed to possess/purchase/aquire expanding ammunition, this will be in the conditions on the front of the cert. Mine happened as a matter of course but to be sure just mention it during the interview. Edit: You may as well put in for something else you think you might need later? They can only say no and it'll save a bit of money if a few months down the line you decide you might want an HMR or centrefire Edited October 3, 2012 by Muddy Funker
snooper
yeh thats what i had in mined,my farmer mate has asked me sort a big fox problem out for him, ive been going out with the shotgun and lamp but just cant get close enough!!! so put in for a 22 to start with 0nly shooting rabbits, ive been out with a friend with the 22 and 17 for about 2 years now, so have a good idea what there about, should have application sorted this week cheers
Olliesims
You will not get a condition for fox control on a .22 although it is capable of killing a fox with head shots at short distances, depending on force they do issue fox on a .17 it might be worth maybe putting in for a .17 as well? It's a fine tool for rabbits with a point and shoot of 50-130 yards on a 100 yard zero, and you can take a fox at 100 easy, put in for both and it will save you a variation in the future
