longjohn
Hello lads Yesterday I was having a walk round my farm with my gun and I shot a pigeon and thought it was worth having a look what was in its crop. There was a bit of rape leaf from regrowth but a large amount of yellow-ish foul smelling lumps which had was similar to oily cream cheese, most bizzare I thought. What is it they have been feeding on? Is it acorns or chesnuts do you think? Or have they just been having a light rape lunch followed by cheese and biscuits? longjohn
Lovely job. Thanks for clearing that up for me. Is it produced by them to survive on when times are hard as they are?

pin
This time of year you don't see many, but there are a few about. I literally gag when I crop one like that. Oddly I like strong cheese like roquefort but this stuff turns my stomach
Highlander
Oddly I like strong cheese like roquefort but this stuff turns my stomach Well don't eat the stuff then Most probably the stuff is pigeon milk but it could be rape seed. If you burst the little brown seeds they are full of a light yellow 'cheese', that's the oil.
