stan68
Finally decided to by night vision I think it is going to be the archer or longbow. Im leaning towards the archer unit as i have a perfectly good scope to use it on. Has any one used these units. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated many thanks dave
grasshopper
Only £2-£3,000 difference between the 2 of them..hard choice Got an Archer and love it,away getting repaired at the moment, dropped it into a stream been leaning towards getting a dedicated rifle scope and using the Archer as a spotter. Reason being the field of vision is drastically reduced when it's attached to the scope, making it hard to sometimes pick up a Fox that's moving and not coming into you. When using it with a bait stand or if your Fox is coming to the call,it's a devastatingly effective piece of kit. You will and i mean will increase the amount of Fox you acount for
al4x
Best option is to try one if you can, as said the cost difference is massive. The archer can be fiddly to re fit if using as a spotter but only really an issue if you have one belting in on the call.
stan68
yes grasshopper that will be the reason then!! Thanks for the input. I to like the idea that you can use it as a spotter as well
al4x
They are ok as a spotter but still quite hard to get back on in time
grasshopper
I took the O ring off mine and takes literally 5 secs to re-fit i and another 4-5 to reduce the laser if needed..it is the narrow field of view that can make spotting a quick moving Fox the problem. If there's 2 of you with NV it's different again. The laser looks like a lamp shining thru NV and therefore my shooting bud simply directs me onto the Fox until i pick up the eyes. Of course if you spot a Fox simply feeding/hunting a field, then you have all the time in the world and it's interesting to watch them for while until they come into a better range. Bangon
+1 for the Archer , love it!! I got a grade D and to be fair it is all you need, Clear as day picture and no black spots. You will spot and drop foxes 200+ if you can do your part. But if i had the cash I would buy a Longbow too and Use the Archer as a spotter.
