Shorty
I have just obtained my FAC for a 22 rimmie and FAC air rifle, seeing I already have an Air Arms s410 carbine I would like to know what I can have it uprated to. Iknow the classic can go to about 30 ft/lbs but I do not want to buy another gun. Cheers Shorty
Dave-G
When I enquired about FACing mine, I rang AA. Gist of it was that it would do about 18ftlb with a meagre shot count, and uneconomicaly expensive to convert. Some will say there USED to be a surplus of cheaper FAC air rifles, the reality for me was a shortage of ones I liked. I know you indicate you don't wish to buy another air rifle, but it would be in your best interest to not FAC the s410k. I'm sure there are other options out there for less money - all I can say is that a regulated one will absolutely amaze you at it's accuracy. I eventually opted to sell my s410K, and put that towards the cost of the newly available BTAS FAC FX Cyclone. (Google fx cyclone, or btas) The FX is longer than the s410, and about the same weight (with a walnut stock on each) it has 3 power settings (so it will still do for 12ftlb close work) and it's ferqinn brilliant with 45ish 27ftlbish shots that are seriously predictable with AA fields - which you probably use now. (There is also an 18 ftlbish setting, all at a flick of a lever that can be easily felt in the dark.) The safety lever also falls to hand thumb when you decide your going to fire. Downside is it's about £750 including the whisper quiet weihraugh(sp) that makes it quieter than your current gun. in addition, if like me you liked to carry it muzzle down, by the pistol grip, you will need to be over 6 feet tall with short arms, if you use the above (long) sound moderator and there is no pressure guage. In short - you'll need to carry it differently. And it's not for leftie's Do I rate it? Darn right I do. I choose it above my rimmie when it's calm and people I know who also have one rate it very highly, and they have experience of other FAC air rifles. It is my first fac air rifle. I did a mini review of it on the Bee Bee S if you wish to read more about it look in the firearms reviews section  ATB, Dave.
