Jackw04_123
I have just invested 11k in both a solar install and a biomass boiler. For those that don't know what the savings and returns are then I think it's definitely worth a look. My investment is going to return me at least £46,000 over 20 years. Has anybody else got solar or a renewable energy source installed???

Has anybody else got solar or a renewable energy source installed??? Does that take into account servicing and potential repair bills? What is the average life of the boiler/panels as modern high efficency units have an expected life of only 8 years on average?
Jackw04_123
Life of the panels is guaranteed to a certain efficiency for 20years, 10 year workmanship warranty. After that it has a separate warranty from the real assurance scheme that covers the install
-Mongrel-
...and the boiler?
Jackw04_123
The boiler has a manufacturers warrantee of 5 years but again it's covered by a 10 year workmanship and 20 year cover from the real assurance
-Mongrel-
Hmmm, interesting. What is the Real Assurance that you've mentioned? I've looked at this sort of thing but never felt the figures added up properly, thay always failed to take into account servicing/repair/replacement costs, however, if you can negate those... Jackw04_123
Real assurance scheme is a setup that these companies have to be accredited with to Mcs registered with the government also covers workmanship warranty if the company goes into liquidation
