Hi everyone,

I haven't been on the site for a while mainly due to work commitments; one of which has been the development of the business.

We have just introduced a new website www.direct-cnc.com

If you have a minute to spare, would you please have a look at our website and give me some pointers? All feedback will be appreciated and taken on-board.

Thanks in advance

Craig

Looks good fella. Great lay out etc. have you thought about customer testimonials as a marketing tool? Sometimes those prospect customers like to see what kind of historic or current contracts have been in place to judge if you've provided service to a reputable business? Also, consider linking the website to good search engines or uk based directory enquiries to enable full uk coverage or just geographical target areas. All these web based marketing tools will no doubt be dependant on your companies marketing funds but looks like you're doing a grand job already.

Looks good, the main thing I would say is the site seems to give the impression of an experienced engineer but does not give the impression of an established full service business. I hope you understand what I mean. Perhaps changing the home page a little to 'big' up the business would be a good idea. I would change the words "machine shop" - I am sure that is what it is called in the trade, however words like "Operating from our modern, fully equipped engineering premises in Worksop, our team of experienced service engineers etc etc." would work better in giving a better impression of the business.

I would suggest trying to include internal links in your pages - for example mention your guarantee on your home page and link it to your guarantee page - this is a big sell point! Remember people like to click when they read a web page and they don't always click on the menu. If you include links in your pages you can more easily draw people deeper into your website and keep them engaged.

Keep in mind Google search terms when writing your text. Imagine what your potential customers would type in Google to find your services, and include these terms in the first sentence of your pages.

I would also suggest changing .....for you CNC service and repair needs ..... on your home page - Better in my opinion to say - 24/7 CNC service and repair call us on ...... Another thing is your email addresses in your contact page - you will get tons of spam - an idea is to show the email address as an image and link the image to email.

edit for typo

I know nowt about CNC machines. But I do know that when I am considering the purchase of something 'big' and browsing the net, I really like to see pictures of it. I realise you wouldn't buy something like this on looks (though we all like a good looking tool, eh chaps) but a few arty shots of the machinery in question would add something to the site.

I'd re write the home page as follows;

Welcome

Direct CNC, global suppliers to precision engineering companies.

Supply & installations of new machinery specialising in CNC machines.

Service & repair of existing machinery.

Bespoke solutions tailored to your individual manufacturing requirements from our in-house state of the art machining facility.

Established Fabrication and surface treatment partnerships allow us to deliver a complete solution to your engineering requirements.

Our commitment

We pride ourselves on delivering against three key indicators in everything we do:

  • Price
  • Quality
  • Performance

With 25 years experience in sectors including oil & gas, automotive and aviation, Direct CNC are the full service CNC specialists for all your precision engineering requirements.

In addition try to include key words, for example (bear in mind its nearly 20 years since I touched a CNC machine) Fanuc controllers etc.

Also as stated earlier the products page with the technical specifications. I'd separate each model and include a photograph.

Perhaps in amongst the scrolling pictures include some stock photography of engineered components being inspected with a micrometer, white coated inspector wearing glasses and a some form of hi-tec measuring device etc. The images of the industries you serve, although relevant do tend to detract from your product a little. I'd consider having them as smaller fixed images down the left hand margin with more engineering/ machining images scrolling across taking a more prominent position.

Some websites have a tag cloud, with key words to help hits from search engines, things that people might possibly type into google.

I hope this is of help and that I've not been too critical.
