Better morning!

Almost got back in the car when I arrived...bright moon in the sky and Very light all around the Marsh.I could hear Widgeon out on the water so guessed the flight would be as in previous weeks very poor.

But ever the optomist I gave it a go.As I thought very little movement as it came light, although I could hear widgeon obviously sat on what tide remained.

Was very fortunate to glance behind me just in time to see a pair of mallard that had come in without me seeing them, one snap shot and the duck dropped .

That was it never saw another duck at flight time. However last year the duck did start coming in as the tide turned so I opted to hang around to see what developed.

After sitting there until 9am I was about to give up when I spotted a teal that was always going to be a high bird but sure enough down came my first cock teal of the season.

Two out of two and I was well pleased.I was then panning around with the binoculars when I spotted another 4 duck coming straight at me and low,it was only as I swung onto them I realised they were all pintail,Two shots and down came Two beautiful Drakes.4 out of 4 and I was estactic!.

Shortly after the only widgeon I saw came down to my single shot.

So thank god I stayed 5 duck ..2 pintail,Mallard,Widgeon and a longed for Cock Teal...for just 5 shots..happy days.

If any a reason to go Tomorrow morning that is a good one.

Im sure TUS will read this? you need a sickie mate lol.

Cant do Saturday mate unless TNS call off the game, doubtful though as they have horrible plastic pitch.

Half a tree dumped on the mud ...pity it wasnt 50yds further out mate, good luck for Saturday.
