Thedeerman
Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with the green metal auto feeders from Target Sports UK? I'm looking to put a few out on my shoot in the harder to reach areas. Was thinking of putting them on 205L drums. They look quite well made, but tell me what you think? Paul223
hi, not used the auto feeders from target sports but have used the auto feeders from solway, we run 8 of them and they work fine, easy to set up attached to an extended 205 ltr plastic drum will hold 200kg (8 bags) of wheat, and last a couple of months running a few seconds twice a day, gives enough scratching to keep a good number of birds happy spraying out probably 3 meters from the feeder
malantone
WE RUN EIGHT OF CABELA`S AUTOS , OPERATE ON TIMERS PLUS LIGHT CENSORS, ATTACHED TO 40LTR BLUE BARRELS, THEY SAVE A LOT OF WORK, HOWEVER THE REST OF THE WOODS INHABITANTS SOON LEARN THE ROPES, OUR KEEPER WAS RESETTING ONE THE OTHER WEEK, HE DID A TEST RU ON IT AND A ROE BUCH STUCK ITS HEAD THRO THE BUSHES NOT 10YDS AWAY, MUST HAVE THOUGHT IT WAS A 2ND BREAKFAST
Thedeerman
If a roe or any other deer want to snack on my wheat, I will welcome them! Not too many deer round here and my .243 could do with an airing!
Alycidon
I have used them in pens bolted a 45 gal drum. Work as prescribed. Dont use it at present as the drum had a tree fall across it. The feeder survived though. a
Thedeerman
Just in case anyone is interested, I bought one of these and it is performing faultlessly. I put on a drum on tall legs and it took 150KG of wheat to fill it. I am chucking out roughly 2kg of wheat a day so it should last quite a while!! I will be buying two more for next season.
