Ryan gun
Would it make a difference of an open ticket or closed if you have been in the army for 8 years as some say they will open after so many rounds experience as my dad has shot thousands of rounds through slrs and gpmg and various other firearms of all different calibers and guns Also he only wants a FAC air and maybe a 17hmr/22rf Atb ryan
Luckyshot
Army experience counts for very little with some forces and I cant see it making enough difference to get open first off if your local force normally issues first applications with closed fac. pboro shot
im ex army and can say it will make zero differernce to most forces, some dont even see it as experience witch is strange ,you would proberly get fac air open but thats pretty much it being a closed ticket isnt as bad as it sounds
Ryan gun
Can one gun for example fac air be open but 17hmr not when you have both guns at the same time Atb ryan
bedwards1966
It depends on what force area you are in. Some will not issue an open certificate until you renew (i.e after 5 years), some only issue open certificates, some do it after a set period of time (18 months) and others will assess you and make a decision based on your experience, as demonstrated by your ammo usage, history etc. It's a postcode lottery. DaveK
Military experience counts for diddly squat unfortunately. It's a completely different scenario and mindset.
Radar70
Ime from derbyshire and i agree with all the above restrictions will be added for the first few years .why bother having an FAC air rifle and a rimfire if you have a 12 ft pound air rifle there will be no restrictions and the rimfire only resticted for a few years, and a few thousand rounds .
