Suffolk shooter
does anyone own a webley and scott semi auto. what do you think of it .might get one Assuming your referring to the guns recently launched at the CLA Gamefair? I personally wouldn't buy anything from them having seen the O/U's on display there, the wood to metal fit was poor to say the least, and the whole thing looked like it had been knocked together in somebodies shed. Having seen the adverts in the Mags, I was all set to get one and couldn't wait to see them at the CLA gamefair in July. I was amazed as to how different the guns advertised where to the ones on display, not what is expected from a recognised gun manufacturer. throdgrain
Thing is , its a recognised name , not a manufactuer
Suffolk shooter
Apologies, your quite right, it is just a name now. The barrel porting on those models on show looked like someone had used a rusty old nail to knock them through Shame really, as for that sort of money you can get better quality secondhand. I picked up a S/H Browning gold hunter 3.5" 12 g 322 barrelled S/A earlier this year for £475.00, it was immaculate in every way possible. Strange found it on here too. All I suggest is that you trawl through a few ads in the mags or shops and see what you can pickup for the same sort of money but secondhand, i.e Browning, Berretta, Winchester, Escort. Happy hunting
plinker
the current batch of turkish guns being branded as Webley & Scott are an insult to a great name in english gunmaking. a bit like a lada with a aston martin badge stuck on them, it really is a shame that W&S ended up like this. plinker

farmer
I've just bought a camo semi Webley for pigeon shooting mostly(left handed no extra cost!) £395 from Sandwell fieldsports and the gun is fine at the end of the day you get what you pay for . Now at my reckoning if the gun is only good for knocking in fence posts in 2 years time thats cost me around £4 a week which aint bad is it?? It makes me laugh when all said and done Webley went tits up for a reason(lets just say this government dont help the manufacturing industry in this country much do they? ) Anyway the gun cycles well and i've had no problems with mine.
