daddypigsaw
Shooting skeet on the weekend using Lyavale Express Pro-Comp 9's with an Optime skeet choke, I was half way round and when firing noticed a flame shoot from the ejection port. Others there thought it might be the flash from the shiny brass cap on the cartridge as it ejected. But after inspection on the next few stands it did it again sometimes accompanied by an elogated spark. When cleaning it later, I couldn't find anything noticeably odd although there was a fair bit of paper-like fouling in the barrel. I am slightly concerned. Does anybody have any ideas? the last engineer
its nothing to worry over, you have an auto, there are unburnt gases and powder coming out of the breech when the empty is ejected, this is why you wear glasses when shooting , if you watch a gun later in the evening you will see the same effect from the muzzle hence the term muzzle flash, there also could be a build up of powder collecting around the ejection area that ignites after a while. think about the action for a second, you put in a shell full of explosive powder, then ignite it, this inturn throws the action in reverse ejecting the spent shell whilst still in an exploding state, why would you not see sparks or flash, its kinda funky when you night shooting   enjoy the game dont worry about the mechanics, you spend more time looking for fire than the target and your scores will suffer. Martin It's just that it's never happened before and it was in bright sunlight. As for affecting score, I still shot 23!
