Andy17 Posted November 3, 2006 Report Share Posted November 3, 2006 hi claybreaker, Not sure if you can really "train" a ferret to hunt rabbits, its pretty much there natural instinct. I initially just started by entering mine separate into small warrens allowing them to go down when they wanted, they kind of pick it up from there really. You could let them rag a dead rabbit/pigeon/squirrel etc. As for being pets just handle them as much as possible really. Andy Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
young gun Posted November 3, 2006 Report Share Posted November 3, 2006 Just handle them from a young age so they don't bite and get used to being picked up and handled and then as to training them just start them on some small warrens and they should just work naturally They will learn some things from experience such as getting through the nets without getting caught in them.
