Theres no requirement to keep them in a safe, I dont have little children, and I understand that shotgun cartridges dont "go off" like rifle bullets in the case of a fire anyway. Your local FAO may insist and the general rule is that they want to see you do so but legally they cannot inforce that. Only do you want to go upsetting the man to make a point?
