Theskyfox
Ok heres the deal....I really don't like the idea of my guns being kept in my room with everybody having access to them. Theyre just air rifles, but its expensive gear....Im after a gun cabinet that is deep enough to take both rifles but at the same time have a small footprint as possible. Ideally Id like one to hold three in case I get another in the future......Can anyone reccommend a particular cabinet as better than another? -Andrew
njc110381
My cabinet is made by BOXX. It's very well made and has two locks that use the same key. I've also heard a lot of good things said about Brattonsound cabinets. Make sure you get a rifle cabinet and not a shotgun one. My scoped Air Arms S200 only just fits in my shotgun safe, and the silencer rests on the door when I close it which isn't ideal! Rifle safes are a bit deeper to allow for this. I'm afraid the footprint size will have to be slightly bigger than a shotgun cabinet, but it is in the depth direction rather than width, so shouldn't be a problem unless space is really tight. Good luck, I hope you find something suitable for your needs
kipper
BRATTONSOUND, gun safes are verry good I've got 1. make sure you get a rifle one thoe as njk said. you would get a scoped rifle in a shotgun cabinet but it is a bit tight. (speaking from experiance). your doing the right thing geting a safe to store your guns in. my safe has a shelf in the top also comes in handy to store other valuables and documents. good luck kipper. pin
If you plan on getting an SGC/FAC then why not, get a cab installed If not, you might as well just fit a padlock to a wardrobe in the spare room or something..
kipper
Gun cabinet would be the better option IMO, right tools for the job. As you said "its expensive gear" what would it cost you to replace them if your house got broken into? would you be covered by your insurance company? and as for "there judt air fifles" they are still leathal weapons in the wrong hands mate, Im not having a go at you just agreeing with you. get a gun safe. I have got 1 shotgun and 3 air fifles in my gun safe. as I said earlier they are also usefull to keep valuables in or any cash you may have laying around. Its a good Idea you have got protect yourself and the genarel publick mate, there is enough guns out there in IDIOTS hands allready. Good luck I hope you find a safe that suits your needs. thanks Kipper
