John_R
I will be out in the USA again soon, and wondered about an upgrade to my existing press. I have the Partner press, and the Rockchucker looks a far stronger tool, beter leverage etc. However, seeing as all I do is the usual decap, resize, reload and no crimps, swaging etc. is it worth it?Would I actually see more consistent results, in terms of very accurate COAL etc? Thanks in advance. Blunderbuss
I bought a Rock Chucker back from the US in November. It's a lovely, solid, well engineered piece of kit to use, but I doubt it will produce much higher quality ammo than your partner unless you are doing some heavy duty case forming or bullet swaging. I think quality scales, dies, case trimming and prep would make more difference. It will FEEL nicer though.
John_R
A late response from me... Thanks, I had more or less thought the same thing, I'll not bother, certainly not this time around anyway!
Blunderbuss
If you've got cash burning a hole in your pocket and room in your suitcase I would recommend an RCBS charge master. You'll save a fortune over the rip off prices Midway, Bushwear etc charge over here. I brought one back at the same time as my Rockchuker and it's been brilliant. It runs on a little 9V DC adapter and the supplied one was a US two pin one. I bought a replacement from Maplins for about a tenner which works fine. One of the best bits of reloading kit I've bought, but it only became good value at US prices. Edited March 31, 2013 by Blunderbuss
