PotHunter96
hi all! would just like to check if i am 15 years of age, and hold a shotgun certificate am i allowed to shoot unsupervised with my gun even if it is on my uncles license and i only borrow it for a day? ( i am aware about the 72 hour rule, however as i have not yet had a cabinet fitted cannot keep it for more than a day) thanks!
HDAV
As an SGC holder you can borrow a shotgun, IIRC you can shoot unsupervised on land you have permission to shoot on, you cannot ur chase a shotgun or shells as you are under18 but they can be gifted to you, ifin doubt check with FEO however you will be responsible for the gun while it is in your custody. PotHunter96
cheers for the clarification however something else i.probably should have mentioned is another fifteen year old aloud to be in my presence if unsupervised? he would at no point be using the shotgun just watching? HDAV
Legally no issue I can see, however 2 15 year olds unsupervised with a firearm.......( depends on the 15 year olds.) in some ways safer as a second person incase of emergency. In others perhaps not so ( I was 15 once.......)
PotHunter96
i understand peoples concerns about two fifteen year olds with a firearm and i agree definetley does depend on the fifteen year old! however i know were both mature enough and obviously he wont be using it
Sx3 clay breaker
You seem to have you head screwed on the right way mate go for it no one can stop you it all depends on your mate if you think he liable to play with the gun when you get to retrieve something leave it till a adult goes things go wrong really quickly and once that triggers pressed there's no calling it back also if you shoot anything we need pictures Happy hunting scott
