TaxiDriver
Took my sons' Blackberry in at the weekend as it kept freezing, and the trackpad froze intermittantly, chap in the shop says 'no problem, all warranty repairable faults' and it'll take approx 5 or 6 days just had a phone call, Repairs are chargeable to the tune of £75 as the warranty is void due to the moisture indicators () having been activated Now I know this phone has not been dropped in a puddle/toilet/drink and has done no more than been taken out in the rain, Apparently, You shouldnt take out/use a phone in damp air. TaxiDriver
Have just told them to look what I spend or have spent each month for the past 5-6 years, and reminded them that ALL of my phones and ipad are on rolling contracts and may be cancelled with no notice and moved to another provider.........all for the sake of £75 repair bill which I still think should be under warranty. keg
I work for a mobile phone manufacturer and there are several small "stickers" inside each handset. I can only comment on our handsets but they would have to get very wet to indicate that they were exposed to moisture. Exposure to a very heavy rain shower would do it. The sticky trackpad/ball is a known problem on BB. A software update can solve the freezing. I hope this helps.
TaxiDriver
Keg, this is what I guess theyre suggesting the guy said theyre located in the battery compartment. the assistant in the shop looked at the phone (including inside battery compartment) and did NOT comment on any 'moisture indicators' In fact said the phone didn't look to be abused in any way.
