danco1987
Hi lads, I'm a full time student at the university of sheffield in my second year. However I'm from down south in Hertfordshire, Welwyn Garden City and live there when I'm back during holidays. I'm back for xmas for 4 weeks, easter for 4 weeks and summer for nearly 4 months. I used to have permission on a small bit of land to shoot rabbits with my airgun during the summer, but im guessing it wouldnt be that good during the winter. I'm going to be buying a hw95k sometime during xmas and was wondering what my chances are of getting a farm to shoot on during the holidays - easter and summer(prob summer most as im down for longest then)? Will i end up losing that shoot when i go back to uni if i manage to get one when i'm back? Do you guys have shoots where the land owners don't mind when you come and go or do you have to be there each and every week? cheers danny

danco1987
Yeah i'll probably just approach land owners and tell them the situation i'm in. cool. I just thought i'd see what the landowners are like for the members on here to see the likiness of me getting somewhere to shoot while im back home. cheers danny
Theskyfox
Hi mate, Im in a similar situation to you so don't worry. Im a second year student in london, and the only time I get to shoot is in the holidays and weekends. Basically see if you know anyone (friends and family) who are landowners and have pest problems. This is how I got my land...once youve been there shooting a few times and they trust you then your quids in. If its a friend or family then you can get a key etc and go there anytime (which is what I do). Most of all, Don't give up...make some business cards and get yourself known and you should be able to get land you can go to any time you want/need, it just takes patience and persiverence  Hope it helps, -Andrew
danco1987
cheers andrew. Unfortunutely i dont have any family with land to shoot over, did have a friend with some but they dont have anymore. I'll keep trying the farmers when im home though. Cheers for you help. danny
