Ally223
Went out Wednesday night and just got on the farm and lamped a fox after 5min a long shot but they have been very spooky and lamp shy lately so had to be quick. Had the rifle ready so swung the Jimny and got ready lamp on and aimed for just behind the shoulder and boom and it folded then a long delay followed by an almighty slap close to 300yds.No options at the moment but take long shots as they are so timed and just turn away from the lamp and when you move away they show again, Saw another 2 but no chance of a shot they were 400-500yds and couldn't get them to come in. Can anyone recommend a caller for these shy Foxes or a method other than NV. http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc277/allygt4/DSC_0060_zps8dd7f25a.jpg
sixhills 69
when i have a shy fox i try baiting them for a few days try to keep the lamp off them let them gain confidence free food i have even put a tin off dog food down before. a NV spotting scope would help you as you could spt them coming in them bang the lamp seconds before releasing the shot. move baiting areas away for normal lamping areas. Not sure but hope it helps

Baiting isn't really an option as its a 100ml round trip but there is plenty scraps around for them. cant really complain as wee have had one every visit and two one night. scolopax
Yes, get up early and wait in a vantage point at first light. Lamping / NV is not the only way to outwit Charlie. I find first hour or so of daylight very productive.

Ally223
Thanks guys, Going to go before dark with my mate one night and pick a vantage point near where we have seen these 2 Foxes and park the jeep up and wait and see if they show. If that fails then an early morning stunt and put some bait down.
