Bob here are the pics showing how to put a coni to a branch or trunk that I promised you.

First tap two large headed roofing nails into the trunk or branch.

Once you have the trap set, place over the nails on an angle

and the pivot straight. The bottom jaws of the trap are now snug under the nail heads.

next hammer a staple into the tree and wire the trap to the staple. Never staple the trap directly to the tree as it is a real problem reaching that hammer, with one hand stuck in a trap. :shout::lol:

Remove all safetys

When done remember to remove the staple and nails.

Sorry if its all been explained in a different thread but what are the traps going to catch? :(

i'm thinking squirels (if i can spell it  ) or mink, raccoons....

Foxer,

It was a discription of how to attatch a conibear for the use of squirrel trapping. the trap in the photos was for demonstration only as it is a 220 and is twice the trap needed for squirrels.

They look a bit like magnum traps you get over here but outs have to be set in a natural or man made tunnel.

Do you always leaver them out in the open ?

George if the trap was going to be set and left as a set it would have a cage or tunnel over it to protect non target species. This one was just set to show how to attatch it to a branch or trunk and then it was taken down.
