aister
Does anyone own one of these scopes? I was thinking about buying the 4-12x50. Any first hand experiences with these scopes would be good to hear. Thanks in advance .
Bradders
I have one on my T3 Lite in 223 in 4-12x50 configuration. I am really impressed with the scope, the image quality is excellent and it copes well in low light, I find I only have it on 6-8 mag for field work (its my foxing rifle) and only up the mag when zeroing or picking off a rabbit, crow etc. the central red dot does help when its dark although I find the dimmest setting is best for me. I am really pleased with it, I can't compare it with some of the more expensive scopes that cost 2, 3 or even 4 times as much but I like it and in my mind it is an excellent scope for the money. aister
Thanks Bradders. I am heading down for some deer stalking in august and, for the first time, some fox shooting. The scope I have on my .223 has fine cross hairs and is not easy with a white light and I am told will be harder to see with a red filter so I am looking for something with an illuminated reticle. jimmyb79
I have one too. Bradders' one is excellent but mine appears to be faulty so is back with Leupold. I've got the 3-9x50. The 4-12 is worth the extra. Cracking scope for the money though.
Bradders
The cross hairs on the VXR are thicker than those on my Leopold VXII which sits on my HMR...... I have no trouble seeing the cross hairs on the VXR even with filters. The red dot makes things even easier.......
