Pole Star
We have some bantams and guinea fowl that live in the wood I shoot over. One feeder is kept full for them through the summer and they roosted in trees within 20 metres of that feeder. 20 metres the other side of the roost tree a vixen had cubs and never touched any of the birds. The earth was full of dead rabbits though. Funny thing Scolopax when I lived in Ireland foxes were nothing but a pain in a*"!! If any of my bantams or guinea fowl failed to go in an empty shed or stables at night you could bet your life it was only a matter of time & the guinea fowl got hammered one summer & I lost about twelve or so when they got in the habit of roosting in the trees ! & then they would come down at the edge of dawn ! . The local fox hunt was often busy around the area & so to were people who called & lamp'd them & chap's who dug then but it made no difference ! they were just a dam problem predator ! . Any way they are lovely pics & comical to see bunnykins feeding so close but note they are fox cubs !! & if ?.
