Epoxy bedding/pillar bedding: well worth doing

I bedded my .243 in last week and got it all back together before the weekend, a fairly nerve racking experience but well worth doing.

I put the first few rounds through it today and it's now shooting around 1/2 - 3/4". I only started at about 75 yards so I still need to work back and get the zero exactly right but I am very pleased with the groups it is producing.

If anyone is thinking of bedding in their rifle, I would say defiantly go for it.

It was grouping somewhere around 2 - 1 1/2" before.

Picture: shooting from left to right. Four rounds in the first group, then three in the next two groups. They are 1" circles at about 75 yards.

I got some pillars of fister. I think they were Brownells for the remmy 700, I had to file these down to fit. And for the epoxy I used Devcon steel putty from Cromwells, although afterwards I did find another site which I think was a touch cheeper.

I'll try and put up a full write up with pictures later.

Where would I get some from for a cz527 ?

Have a look on Midwayuk. I had to cut mine down with a hacksaw and then file them to the right profile. The trigger guard was at a slight diagonal to the receiver.

I would measure between the face of the receiver and the face of the trigger guard and then get oversized pillars and cut them to fit.

Also I slightly cut the rear pillar too short but as it evens out with the epoxy it wasn't the end of the world.
