Yep I've heard of them too - cheap japanese/chinese imports I believe - lesser grade optics - you won't notice initially unless you have a real pair to compare it against, and then I've heard the seals go (fogproof & waterproof gone!) and the optics degrade within 12-24 months...there's always a reason they're cheap!
