  1. I can see why you are having the bitch done but why the dog! has he been having problems?
  2. When I first had Iolo he would eat anything and as soon as you put it in front of him! Now he is becoming fussy, even tried the same "he'll eat it when he's hungry" that didn't work! I am now trying a few different one's he eat James Wellbeloved £40+ a bag!! so I have now bought some different varieties of this, also pedigree which at the moment he eats’. He did eat Dr. Johns Gold for a while especially if I wet it up with hot water, but that has stopped!! Good luck mate I'm in the same boat.
  3. Hi would be interested but! too far to travel, are you going to the Midlands Game Fair?

I have had mine almost a month now and wow what a gun! It’s a .22 and have had no problems with it, accurate, off a bi-pod can almost put pellet on pellet at 30yrds. Putting out 11.5lb with AA Hunters Anyone else have one who what’s to share their information?
  7. Had a 1000 last weekend from Litt's in Newport (Sportsmansgun) for £145, excellent price they look as good as 'Clear Pigeon', priced these last year and they wanted £190 for a 1000!!! May even get some more this weekend at this price.
  8. Popped into 'Sportsmansgun' in Exeter whilst down in Devon for a few days, went to purchase some Hornardy .17 HMR's asked the price! £33 per 100, they said 10% off if I bought 500!!! Asked if they were tacking the pi**, I paid £21 per 100 in the Midlands Games Fair last October, I declined their nice offer and left empty handed. What are members here paying for their .17 HMR's?
  9. Yes he does have FTCh in his bloodline, I will try the bottle trick, I'll try anything at this stage, he such a loving dog and I'm sure he will get there!!
  10. Well I took him out into a tennis court today on his 50' lead, he did really well! made no attempt to run off, walked to heel, retrieved, stayed until call (whistle) and had him to stop using the whistle again, great. THEN when we got home I was putting him in his kennel/run and the little ****** ran off again, he would NOT come back, calling him whistle, no effect found him 20 mins later! he is driving me crazy!!!
  11. I have an ESS and he is 7 months old, I cannot leave him off his lead as he runs off, no matter what I do he will NOT come back, I fear that he'll get run over by a car or even get lost. Today he ran off and he almost got run over, I am at the end of my tether with him. He listens in the house and in the garden! HELP
  12. All excellent information and I will certainly try and take it all on board! I will keep you posted.
  13. My 15 week old ESS pup pulls whilst he is on the lead (I have only had him a week), I have started to either stop walking or or turn around and he will normally sit, can anyone shine some light as to how to get him to walk to heel and to stop pulling. Another problem is when I call him he usually ignores me!
  14. Here is my springer pup, Iolo, he is 16 weeks old and I have had him for 5 days, the little ****** ran off today for 10 mins so its no off the lead for him!
  15. At last a picture of him (Iolo)
  16. Took him for a walk this afternoon, he had two cr**ps give him plenty of praise and when I though things were going well the little ****** found some mud, he started digging in it! you can imagine what he looked like and he totally ignored me so I had to walk in and get him only for him to run straight back in, it funny how they listen when they want to!
  17. Thanks for all the advice, I'll take it all on board. A very good point about walking him and distance, all good advice, took him out this morning for 15-20's, and there was NO 'poop' where I keep him and he did 'poop' in the woods so I gave him plenty of praise.
  18. Well he is still ******* well! (but he is on dry food and its getting better) when I take him out his nose is on the floor all the time, he walks better off the lead than on the lead. He love taking his little toy with him and alway brings it back when I throw it for him, he has a really gentle 'pick_up'. I will post pictures of him over the weekend, after walking miles he always wants to go again. He does bark/wimper in the night BUT I ingore him. Its all still new to me, BUT I keep you all informed!
  19. I have just had my first ESS pup he is 14 weeks old, he has a lovely temperament, I picked him up today and he has not been house/litter trained. Firstly can anyone give be some basic pointers on how to get him trained into cra**ing on paper or pads (he is kept in my garage at the moment). Secondly how much food should he be having (he was on can food, but I have started mixing some dry biscuits with it), should I give him some milk as well as water? Any help would be gratefully recieved!
  20. Ba***ds! I think we should all take heed from this and if anyone offers Pheasant for sale at reduced prices, 'shop them' to the old plod. How would you feel if it happened to you? When we moved our poults to the release pen it took ages to round them all up and crate them, this was done in daylight, I can only imagine how long it took in the dark and how the birds must have been like. You have my full sympathy, and I hope the escapees from last year make up for your loses.
  21. Well we had some Partridge (red and grey legged) delivered yesterday and thought I'd post some pictures, so heres one!
  22. Do the decoys come with it?
  23. Well the time has come to move them to their release pen, we re doing this on Saturday, we have been lucky enough to join a new syndicate, they already have a new pen, I will post some picture after Saturday.
  24. Nats fill in your profile! Where do you live?
