leeboy
My mate has just picked up his first .243, a new Tikka T3 hunter deluxe with a reflex mod. Very nice gun ! He has been supplied with some federal 100gn powershok bullets. What do you guys suggest as to the best range to zero at ? The gun will be used for deer and foxes and it would be preferable to use the same round for both so as to not have to keep re-zeroing. Also, any suggestions as to any other brands or style of bullets that maybe he ought to try ? He is completely new to centerfires and I have very little knowledge of the subject other than what I've read in the past. Any suggestions gratefully recieved. Dead-Eyed Duck
Zero at the range at which you would normally expect to shoot at. As I shoot my 0.223 over fairly small fields then I zero at 100 yards. If you are punching a nice group at 100 yards then it will be OK at 200 yards. Graham M
If you are using 70grn bullets then sight it in at @170yds. This will be @ 1inch high at 100yds and will only be @1 inch low at 225yds. G.M.
