kitchrat
I think if you keep the movement to a minimum and are spotting pigeons some distance away, you can get away with looking over the net. Also, if your hide is offset from your layout, the incoming birds should be focusing on that, not you. However, I have stood up many times in the hide to take incoming birds at 35yards away and they have carried on into the decoys, taking no notice of me at all. It seems the first Rule is there are no rules. Seeme to me it all depends on their commitment. On the right day/time/place you don't need a hide, just stand there and shoot them. But those days are rare and getting rarer! Also, a good wind seems to make them concentrate on flying a bit more with less time to look for trouble. VINCED 686
To what then ?? Baiting fields? - Can't afford it and the farmers would hate it "Don't bring them ******'s onto MY farm" Land mines? Anti-personnell mines?? (that might work for large flocks on rape in the winter...) Any other ideas, I'm open to almost anything....... flame thrower !! saves cooking them later .
