BRNDL Posted August 27, 2013 Author Report Share Posted August 27, 2013 Slowly...! I started with her tennis ball which she will happily carry around the house. I have been rolling this in a closed environment and encouraging her to bring it back which she is doing but I find myself rushing in with my hand to stop the drop. I hold it there and then give the release command then praise. ( I hsve just read this back and realised I am praising the dog for dropping the ball...not holding it! Bloody hell ) over the weekend she was bringing her toy to me and holding it and then dropping on command which is good, but this is inconsistent. I do struggle to encourage her to pick up again once it has been dropped. She will nose it about and drag it a little but not pick up fully and bring back.
