Will Poon
Had a go at DTL today at Fauxdegla (I'm sorry to say it bores me slightly after a while) but I shot it today because it was the closest reg shoot near me so I had a blast at it. Any way the question is that I've noticed there's never alot of C class shooters that enter comps , no where near as much as B and A class shooters! Is there a reason why? For all you seasoned competitors may explain more Edited August 18, 2013 by Willpoon
Sian
May I suggest a theory as an unseasoned shooter. With DTL the scores are always very high in most classes at registered shoots. I think most C class shooters will wait until they are able to give a fairly decent score before competing. I actually quite like DTL but for me I only really get to do it when I am on holiday at Xmas in Wales and occasionally when I go to Dartford the rest of my shooting is ESP every weekend so I am not someone who is building up my DTL hit rate. I can only hit an average of about 16 to 20 out of every 25 so nowhere near enough if I was that competitive minded to stand a chance of coming anywhere in a competition when you see the usual results are 98/99/100 for those that are dedicated to their discipline. Might be wrong. Took the word even out as it was not needed. Edited August 19, 2013 by Sian
deershooter
A lot of shooters bypass C class as they shoot better scores and are straight in to B or A class I started shooting DTL in 2002 with scores of 14-16 after 6 months and buying the proper gun ie a Trap gun I was regularly shooting 23-24 and when I booked my first ever registered shoot I shot 100 /296 and went straight in to AA class Deershooter
