been looking at a ranger 2003 2.5 d 97000 ml good nick and at the right price

BUT the glow plug warning lamp flashers after about 2 mins

if you switch the engine off then back on it starts flashing again drives ok no smoke etc

anyone have any ideas

That's used as the engine warning light. Take it up to 60-70 mph and see if it coughs/splutters. If it does, remove the fuel filter and before replacing, fill the new one with injector cleaner (the stuff in the little bottles from Halfords). Put any leftover in the tank. Run the truck for 5 mins and problem solved!

 

Alternatively, you'll need to get it plugged in to a (Mazda) diagnostic machine.

 

Rangers are fantastic trucks. I just sold mine and miss it already!
