CZ 452

You say your dealer noticed that the bullet heads were being damaged but tried to work around it by trying various types of ammo?? This is a $&*%% Rimfire and you don't want anything nasty so much as scuffing the rounds-demand a replacement. I have a 452 and it will cycle any round with ease (CCI stinger not included)..

Kind of direct Bruno, but I totally agree :good:

Your dealer does not inspire me with confidence.

The fact that some makes of bullet are difficult to chamber does not worry me too much provided that several other makes do chamber ok, some guns are fussy, mine are too.

Hopefully, I was not too clear from your post, your are now finding that several makes of ammunition are now chambering ok and without catching and damaging the bullet head.

Is this the same moderator that was fitted at first purchase? Which moderator is it?

It is a bit alarming that your barrel was so dirty that even a plain rod would not go through it.

Did you clean it thoroughly before firing your first bullets or just bang away?
At the very least, it seems that you have a moderator or screw cut problem. You need to try another moderator and see if the problem persists and if it does I suggest you reject the gun (quickly - don't delay) and insist on a full refund. That means you are not bound to that particular dealer and can source a new gun elsewhere. Don't let the problem drag on, it is always possible (very unlucky) that you have a bad gun.
Whatever you do, DON'T do anything that could give the dealer the excuse that YOU have caused the damage or it all gets very complicated! It is your right to refuse to accept the rifle on the grounds that it is faulty (not accurate, not chambering correctly) and you must do this within a reasonable time, in this case a week is reasonable but don't push it much further. The dealer MUST give you a full refund if that is what you want. He may try and persuade you to let him try and repair it but it is your right to have your money back at this stage and that is the route I would take as it gives you a fresh start.

I've been going to this particular guy for years so I trust him enough to know he won't rip me off, he did say to bring it back in Friday when his gun smith is present and he will keep it over the weekend and do a full strip down, clean and polish. Failing that he will return and refund on Monday when I am back in the area.

I'm the same I can't believe the more damaged rounds would group better (cci and eley although the SK's are very very good with no damage) we are talking about slight vertical shaving of the banding but not around the full circumference of the bullet head. It appears as definite lines so perhaps a burr or two is present?

The moderator is a SAK which was purchased new with the rifle, I cannot see any obvious indication of clipping. No lead marks or streaks.

Unfortunately I fired away prior to cleaning, not the best idea in hindsight. I'm using the original magazine and a ten shot mag as well and both cycle fine and results are the same with both. Both connect and lock in fine.

The results without the mod are very impressive but if the bore is also negatively effecting accuracy then this thing will be a laser.
