landofficer
Hi All Does anyone know of any where that shooters in the Northumberland area can sell pigeons. The main dealer closed last year around May in Rothbury who you could take pigeons to at anytime. Last summer and this one I have shot many good bags of pigeons but to get rid of them has been a problem, I think I have not been to the same place twice because they cannot take big bags. Even this weekend I shot over 200 and it took many phone calls but I found somewhere that would take a one off delivery even the place at Acomb at Hexham wouldn't take them. What happens to all the game that is shot in Northumberland and what do all the decoyers do as the countryside is alive with them. Thanks in advance to all the decoyers
r1steele
Billy Bell's in Haltwhistle deals in game but I'm not sure about what he will take or how many. If I can I'll phone my mate who keepers not far from Hexham tomorrow and see where all his game goes. There may be someone in the Kielder area but I'm not 100%. There is also Ridley's Game and Fish who used to have a shop in Hexham but still do markets around the Northumberland area (Hexham on Tuesdays) but they may be the one's from Acomb that you've already tried. You could also try over the border as I seem to remember when I was keepering in Kelso we used a local dealer there. Hope this helps. landofficer
Any info will be great, from the amount of game shooting and pigeon shooting that goes on in this county there must be someone taking them in.
