deershooter
Just got back from Mid Wales Shooting Center after shooting the World .410 championship. What a disaster 50 birds from 5 stands and it was taking 1.5 hours a round due to constant trap breakdowns and no one refilling the traps .Its about time the BASC understood economics ,what gives them the right to increase the entry price to £20 for 50 clays which is 11%.more than last year when inflation is only 2% get real chaps make this a 100 bird shoot not re_entery , there was no prize money paid back just sponsored prizes take heed and give this shoot to a proper sporting ground and run it professionally its not really a .410 World Championship it just a money spinner for the BASC. Come on we all who went enjoy shooting a .410 but not at 40 p per clay Registered CPSA British open was 44p per clay but £10 from every enters was given back in prize money Deershooter
Salopian
Deershooter, The responsibility for trap filling and maintenance lies with the ground, not BASC. 40p is about the average for a a competition clay, BUT that is normally with a payback for High Gun and Class positions. What was the number of entries? I also agree that any competition boasting a 'World' status should really be over 100 targets. But hopefully those that did attend enjoyed themselves.
