wymberley
I've just picked up a 1999 Fabarm Euro 3 Lux for the pigeon hide which has a 24" barrel, a 3" chamber and a selection of 10 different multi chokes, including (heaven forbid) one for steel shot, although for my purposes, 9 are redundant. For its age, the condition is as near as mint as you're ever going to get with just a minor little scratch which a little oil will sort out on the stock and a couple of small marks on the barrel. Judging by the lack of wear on the checkering it's had very little use. I'm on my shooting 'run down' now so I'm hoping this will see me out and confess that it was the nice bits of timber that caught my eye. But it also has a perceived recoil reducing system fitted which is a bonus but I've not a clue which it is. The fore end nut has been replaced with a c3" cone shaped fitting (I suspect that this may be to correct the balance due to the mechanism in the stock but am not certain). This is heavy and has a sling swivel attached to the flat front end. Inside the stock - I've not taken this down yet as I'm waiting for a comb adjusting shim set as I need a little extra cast off and will have a closer look when I install a shim - it appears that the original stock bolt may have been replaced - there's now a hex' headed nut/bolt (not sure which yet) - to which a tube that has an internal seemingly dampened sliding weight attached. At the moment, that's the most information I can provide and am hoping that it may be sufficient for someone to be able to identify it. Many thanks. Edit: Muddled words corrected. Little_Dom
When i bought the euro 3 i've got bout 2 months ago i was told the cone on the fore end was the recoil reducer, but i've tried mine with it on and with the standard fore end end and i can't notice a difference. I love the gun (both the wood and the way it shoots) its probably the best 275 quid i've spent. I've also got an exploded diagram of the gun if you want me to try and get you a copy? Dom, Many thanks. The RFD is sorting something for me but if he doesn't manage it I'll get back to you regarding the diagram as one would be handy. Have you taken the stock plate off yet? I'm told that the front cone can be one half of the recoil system which also acts as a balance weight for the other half installed in the stock and which is attached to the end of the stock bolt.
