Shooting Stephen
Struggling to find a quiet waterproof coat (jacket) for stalking rabbits - needs to be quiet and waterproof. Are you getting QUIET would be good! Had a (nasty) old wax cotton, but quality ones are a bit expensive I will be lying in ambush in the cold and wet - any views? Cheers Steve. moorvale55
Have a look at Keela in Scotland, they make some great stuff, (used and tested by the RAF Mountain Rescue in Canada for walking up waterfalls!), I bought a fleece and coat about 20 years ago and have been out in all weathers with it. I recently washed it and reproofed it and it is fine. Any problems and just email them and their response is terrific. Quiet, waterproof, breathable, light and a lot cheaper that others. David M
Tougher man than me, laying out in the rain is not for the faint hearted..! I'm a fair weather hunter and use a washed out black fleese (now a dark brown) that's silent and brown chinos for rabbits. I use a cheap camo top and bottom and olive face veil for pigeons from a camo netting hide. Quite rustly waterproof material but birds seem quite deaf but very sharp eyed. Shooting Stephen
I've just been speaking to a man in the army - he says the new multi camo lightweight waterproof - not the Gortex - is pretty quiet - will check out the local ex Mod shop, the new stuff is starting to come through!
