  1. Hello Interested in safe you have pm Steve
  2. Update. Thanks for the help, neighbours thought I was mad - did everything short of dancing around it. A RAV4 website had a complicated set of turn key twice, open door three times wait and and... wonder if someone made it all up for a laugh! Still no joy so played (again) with alarm fob and don't know what I did in what order but it pinged, and now everything is good! So ready to go. Thanks again Steve
  3. Hmmm.. Took the battery out of my 2.0 petrol M reg rav4 - charged it up on a trickle charger. Replaced battery tried to start it and... hazards flash maybe 10 times lights, horn etc work but NOTHING from the starter - not even a click. Haynes tells me not to remove battery (hindsight is allways 20/20) as the EMU will lose it's memory. Well it looks like it has - how do I re-boot it - if I buy a new one will that need re-booting (of that is the right term). Any help (or random amusing abuse) welcome. Steve PS my defender had no such problems, bloody electrics!
  4. I've just been speaking to a man in the army - he says the new multi camo lightweight waterproof - not the Gortex - is pretty quiet - will check out the local ex Mod shop, the new stuff is starting to come through!
  5. Sold to me!! Lokks nice, and a decent block as well. I'm happy. Just needs a bi-pod...
  6. Struggling to find a quiet waterproof coat (jacket) for stalking rabbits - needs to be quiet and waterproof. Are you getting QUIET would be good! Had a (nasty) old wax cotton, but quality ones are a bit expensive I will be lying in ambush in the cold and wet - any views? Cheers Steve.
  7. 4 years ago (?) - laws do change. I bought an ex-mod defender. Drove to pre-booked MOT with insurance but no; road fund (used to be called tax), MOT (yes..) or registration. You must be pre-booked and insured. Agree with comments re tyres above.
  8. People Just bought a 1995 Toyota RAV4 - I drive 15miles to farm and drive maybe 200m off road so I am hoping it will work out. I really wanted a road car with good ground clearance that would fit in my tiny garage - this is 4x4 (bonus) and was cheap (may-be too cheap!) It is a road car (softroader?) so wading depth is 300mm or 500mm driven slowly. I would like to feel a bit more secure at about 600mm so considering a snorkel... Anybody found / engineered / bodged a snorkel for one of these? Thanks Steve
  9. Hi What is the web site? I have recently lost my elevation cap and need a new on! Thanks. Steve
  10. I have had success baiting with liquidised cat food (vile!) the little beggars can't run off with it they have to eat it where you put it. You really need to make sure there is as little other food around at the same time though. Good luck
  11. Hi I can't edit the earlier post for some reason. I am struggling to upload pictures as well - not a good day. I any one would like the photos please email - sorry. Taken her for a run smoked at start up and when I got back not smoking but will blow smoke when warm if you rev the engine. There is some weeping onto axle at rear nearside wheel. price reduced £3500
  12. Change of permission so Defender no longer used. 2.4 Diesel non-turbo, smokey on start up quickly clears. Road registered, taxed and MOT'd 2 seats up front 4 in back - no rear seat belts. One, double, rear seat out currently to make some space and toolbox bolted in place (included). NATO hitch Roll bar and full canvas tilt. Door locks don't work - I have a new set and will include if I find them. Rear reverse/work lamp wired into convoy lamp - will need dashboard warning light for next MOT. dented bonnet, looks like a squaddy stood on it, this has caused some damage to the fan, but works ok. I have a Ford electric fan, not fitted but included. There is a thread somewhere on here that shows a neat installation phot for this. Mudd rails fitted to drivers seat - moves seat up and back for full size drivers. If thats not you I'll include the plastic step the good lady uses to climb in and out! Not let me down. £4000 cash please. I will give mot/tax dates and add pics later - I'm at work and thought I may catch some office friday pm surfers!
  13. Isn't it time we dumped the Royal Family? Heredity power is just wrong. Flag waving doesn't solve any problems (even those the right way up!) Funny enough I too consider myself patriotic.
  14. Hello My solution... I have a nasty old break barrel and have updated to a second hand Theoban PCP, Bloody great. Like it so much I'm on the look out for a 22 FAC. I spent all my cash on the rifle. I do without botle or pump - for now. My local gun shop fills her (yes her) up for a quid, thats about 200 shots with a Theoban. This may work out more expensive, and need more trips, if your rifle has a smaller bottles! I am thinking of a pump so I can be independant, but in no rush. Steve Edit - If a pump costs £150, thats 150 fills at a quid, fill her every 2 weeks, 300 weeks - time to pay back pump = 6 years!
  15. The answer... I have spoken to a very nice lady at the firearms licencing section of the local police. my slots for '.22 rifle' are avalaible for rimfire or FAC air rifle. Steve.
